Chocolate Carrot Cake Cupcakes Recipe

Chocolate Carrot Cake Cupcakes Recipe

I had a bunch of carrots that I wanted to use for something other than my usual carrot cake, and that is how these chocolate cupcakes came about. I added cocoa and a mix of warm spices to the batter, then finished them with cinnamon cream cheese frosting.

The combination worked so well that I knew I had to share these cupcakes with you all. The cupcakes have a soft chocolate crumb with freshly grated carrots throughout, while the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves add a gentle spiced flavor.

The cream cheese frosting makes the top smooth and creamy without taking away from the chocolate and spices. If you enjoy chocolate bakes, Chocolate Peanut butter Cupcakes and Nutella Cookie Cupcakes are two more recipes you can try.

These cupcakes are a fun option when you want the familiar spices of carrot cake with a deeper chocolate flavor. The freshly grated carrots add moisture to the crumb, while the cinnamon cream cheese frosting gives the cupcakes a creamy finish that works naturally with the spices. They are easy to portion, simple to decorate, and a nice change from a traditional carrot cake.
