Maple Walnut Cookies Recipe

Maple Walnut Cookies Recipe

One quiet baking day, I found myself staring at a bottle of maple syrup and a bag of walnuts, wondering if they could become something more than the usual breakfast combination. I toasted the walnuts, worked the maple syrup into a buttery cookie dough, and folded the nuts through at the end. After baking, the edges were lightly golden while the walnuts added little crisp pieces throughout.

The cookies have a soft, buttery bite with a mellow maple flavor and toasted walnut crunch. If you’re building a mixed cookie platter, pair these with my Cherry Almond Thumbprint Cookies for a fruity option or Raspberry Jam Sandwich Cookies for another jam-filled favorite.

Maple syrup gives these cookies a gentle sweetness that works especially well with toasted walnuts. The buttery dough keeps them tender, while the chopped nuts add a little texture throughout. They make a nice addition to a cookie platter, afternoon snack, or homemade batch to share with family and friends.
